In early 2022 Cratus’ public affairs team was commissioned by a national highways contractor to conduct some qualitative research on the local authority highways market.
Cratus was tasked with gathering data and opinions on local authorities’ perceptions of different contractors, the unmet challenges that councils were facing and the areas in which the client could improve its performance.
Through a series of meetings, phone calls and roundtable sessions with leaders and cabinet members of highways authorities Cratus produced a report for the client that provided a degree of candid insight that had not been available before.
The report included invaluable information on what leading politicians and decision makers wanted from highways contracts that was currently missing, and views on the perception of and satisfaction with the client and other suppliers. In the short period of time since we provided the report the client has gone on to retain and secure new contracts while making informed decisions about its pipeline.
