A client of Cratus is a developer of solar farms and had purchased an option on a parcel of land in Gloucestershire. On its own the site was not large enough to house an economically viable solar farm. In order to achieve the critical mass necessary to generate enough power the site would have to be coupled with a neighbouring site owned by the council. The client had attempted to hold discussions with the council but had hit the buffers and could not break the impasse.
Cratus leveraged our knowledge of the local authority and its policies and procedures to advise the client on the best approach to take in dealing with the council. Using our political connections, we were able to speak to senior decision makers at the council and set up meetings between the council and the client which led to productive discussions about the potential to develop a solar farm.
