Cratus Communities welcome in the festive season at Arborfield Green

For the second year running, the Cratus Communities team organised a successful Christmas event at Arborfield Green Community Centre.

Once fully developed Arborfield Green Garden Village will have over 2000 new homes, a new primary and secondary school and a new district centre. Historically, the area was home to an active army base, Arborfield Garrison, and many service families still live in the area. In the true spirit of Christmas, the event brought together these families, along with new residents, existing private residents, and the community groups that make up the Arborfield Green community.

The event featured local vendors’ stalls selling beauty products, books, children’s activities and more, and a wood-fired pizza truck and a hog roast on offer, the attraction drew over 350 people across the evening.

The fair culminated in the Mayor of Wokingham Borough Council switching-on the lights around the Christmas tree with  Saint Sebastian Wokingham Band playing Christmas carols. A visit from Santa with presents rounded off a truly wonderful winter evening.

Cratus Communities are dedicated to meaningful resident engagement, and a calendar of regular exciting local events is one tool which helps us to achieve this goal. Across sites we provide day to day communications, working closely with project teams and partners to find creative and timely solutions to issues that arise. Effective problem solving is a key success of the Communities Team, as we support the project team to track and resolve issues, whilst keeping local stakeholders up to date with the latest information.
