Cratus is the only public affairs and communications agency that focuses solely on Local Government – the people who work in it, the organisations that want to partner with and the outcomes for the communities they serve.
Core to everything we do – a team that is passionate about the sector and committed to improved partnerships between local authorities and the private sector.
The team – cross-party, trusted within local government and beyond – provides insight and counsel to clients from across the sectors via:
But, with an eye on the future, Cratus continues to develop its own rising stars and ‘next gen’ leaders – and as part of that process it has recently announced that its 2018 talent pool – Katy Bennett, Charlotte Platten and David Parry – have been promoted into three newly created Account Manager roles across the core functions – Communities; Advisory, Public Affairs + PR and Planning Communications.
Katy joined the Communities team after a Graduate Diploma in Law, stints as a paralegal and in marketing and as a volunteer with Citizens Advice. She supports developer clients and residents to ensure that high-profile, large-scale and challenging developments are successful for both parties and the local authority concerned.
A problem solving, creative communicator – Katy’s role requires her to embed herself and colleagues into new build developments once outline planning permission is granted with the aim of integrating the new community with existing residents, protecting, improving and bolstering the reputation of both the development and the client.
Charlotte joined Cratus via an internship in September 2018 after studying Biomedical Sciences at University and working at Fortnum and Mason and the PRCA. As part of the Cratus Planning Communications team she has supported a number of major planning applications and secured permissions for a number of clients across the Capital and the wider Home Counties. This exposure to how local government works sparked a wider interest in the sector which led to her supporting the Advisory/Public Affairs/PR team as they guided a newly established unitary local authority through a three way merger – specifically around a reorganisation of the external and internal communications functions.
David landed at Cratus after an International Relations degree and an internship with Guildford Borough Council’s housing department. Since then, David has been instrumental in reinforcing our relationships with both key private and government sector clients and, at a local level, developed a deep understanding of how both the planning departments and local politics operate across his Southern Home Counties territory.
As Cratus continues to grow and expand we are investing in our teams and their ability to provide insight at a time of uncertainty.
