National Planning Policy Framework

17.06.12

The Government has today launched its draft National Policy Framework. This important document will become the national guide for how Local Planning Authorities interpret and implement planning policy for every planning decision. The Government claims to have reduced over 1,000 pages of current policy to a little over 50. A copy can be seen below.

This is a consultation document and comments need to returned by 17th October 2011.

In September they are holding four planning reform events in London on Wednesday 7 September 2011, Leeds on Thursday 8 September 2011, Birmingham on Tuesday 13 September 2011 and Bristol on Thursday 15 September 2011. These events will cover the National Planning Policy Framework along with other key elements of the planning reforms, such as Neighbourhood Planning.
