Stepping Forward Together: Team Cratus at the Public Sector Challenge: London Bridges Walk 2026

14.01.26 | Written by Peter Banks

This Saturday, members of the Cratus Group team will be heading into the heart of London to take part in the Public Sector Challenge: London Bridges Walk – a vibrant and purposeful walking event that brings colleagues, partners, and supporters together from across the public sector and beyond.

The challenge isn’t just about walking the miles across London and over the iconic bridges; it’s about community, connection, and supporting life-saving charities, including Cancer Research UK and the British Heart Foundation.

Meet the Cratus Walkers

We’re proud to cheer on and support our colleagues as they take part:

  • Mona Xue

  • Joanna Christophides

  • Dan Humphreys

  • Nicola Richards

  • Nick Kilby

  • Charlotte Platten

  • Harriet Shone

Each of them represents not just the spirit of Cratus Group, but the heart of what this event is all about: teamwork, endurance, and giving back. And we’re especially proud because Cratus Group supports the Public Sector Challenge as its marketing & communications partner with colleagues also serving as board members helping bring this event to life behind the scenes.

Why Walking Matters: For Health and Community

Walking is one of the simplest forms of exercise – but its benefits are anything but simple.

Physically, regular walking supports cardiovascular health, helps manage weight, and enhances overall fitness. Mentally, it’s well-documented that walking clears the mind, reduces stress, and improves mood. Taking time out from your desk, getting fresh air, and moving your body releases endorphins – natural mood lifters that can help us reset and approach the rest of our week with renewed energy.

But there’s another, equally important benefit: the social connection that comes from walking together.

Shared steps create shared stories. Walking as a group breaks down barriers, sparks conversations, and builds relationships that simply don’t emerge in meetings or around email chains. Meeting new people — from fellow walkers to volunteers and supporters — brings a sense of connection and community that boosts wellbeing in a way that goes far beyond physical activity.
