Watkin Jones Student Housing Success in Oxford
On Wednesday 8th March Oxford East Area Planning Committee granted permission for a scheme for 144 student rooms in Cowley. The developers were Watkin Jones who Cratus have been working closely with providing political advice and support and making sure the team were able to demonstrate the benefits of their proposals to the Council, the councillors and to the neighbouring Primary School. The School were understandably worried about overlooking but the work done around engaging with them ensured their concerns were alleviated resulting in recognition that the scheme had been designed with their needs also in mind.
Ben Sherreard commented: “This was a great result in Oxford providing much needed purpose built student accommodation that will free up local houses to be re-used as family homes. Cratus are proud to have been of help in securing planning consent and look forward to seeing the scheme play a key part in the regeneration of the Temple Cowley area of Oxford.”
