UKREiiF marks the start of a new era at market leading communications firm, Cratus Group.
Entrepreneurial founder and long term CEO, Nick Kilby has announced that he is moving to a new role as Executive Chairman, with Deputy CEO Julian Seymour stepping up to run the company.
Nick Kilby said: “We founded Cratus in the dark days of 2009 and I am told that the last 16 years have been some of the most challenging economic times for most of the last century. Despite that, we have forged a company with a unique relationship with local and national government, and a fantastic roster of clients who we love working with.
“Our journey has never been dull and always an adventure, and the company today is full of talented people, who I am delighted to say share my passion for making connections, doing the right thing and delivering outstanding engagement for our clients.
“The changes announced today will put us in a position to build on our success and expand into new areas. What we have achieved in the last 16 years only makes me excited for what we are capable of achieving in the next 16 years.”
As Executive Chairman, Nick will focus on developing Cratus’ offer, building the business network, expanding our areas of interest, and leading key client accounts.
Julian Seymour will take over as Chief Executive and lead the teams day to day, working with Nick to set the strategic direction. Julian is one of the most successful figures in the sector and few have his track record in Planning Communications. While planning comms will remain a big part of his life, the wider scope of being CEO gives him a new platform, leading a powerful and talented management team and taking the business forward into the future.
Julian joined Cratus in 2018 as Head of the Northern Home Counties team and has subsequently led the planning communications business through a significant period of growth. He has recently been Deputy CEO and Managing Director of Planning and Communities teams.
Julian commented on his appointment: “Building on our success as a Planning Communications business we have changed significantly in recent years and now offer the whole spectrum of corporate communications, crisis comms, national and local public affairs and digital communications. None of that could have happened without Nick’s leadership and fearless approach.
“We’ve spent the last year and more building our platform for the future and with our Managing Directors, Sarah McKee and Dan Humphreys, and our amazing team, we are now all set to support our clients for the next decade and more. I can’t wait!”
