23.03.26

Cratus Group is delighted to announce that Paul Teverson has joined as a Senior Director within its Planning team, further strengthening the firm’s senior leadership and deepening its expertise across the built environment.

Paul joins Cratus with extensive experience in corporate affairs, communications and public policy, having operated at the highest levels across both the private and public sectors. His career spans senior leadership roles in the housing and later living sectors, including 15 years at McCarthy Stone, where he led the group’s communications during a period of significant growth. During this time, McCarthy Stone received planning consent and opened more than 500 new retirement communities worth more than £4bn. Paul’s earlier experience includes advising in Parliament and working with major housebuilders and infrastructure organisations.

Alongside his role at Cratus, Paul is Director of the Retirement Housing Group, where he continues to play a leading role in shaping the conversation around later living and housing for an ageing population.

Bringing a strong track record in strategic communications, stakeholder engagement and public affairs, Paul has led complex, high-profile programmes and advised on some of the most significant challenges facing the built environment sector. His experience at executive level will further enhance Cratus’ ability to support clients navigating planning, political and reputational challenges.

At Cratus, Paul will provide senior strategic counsel to clients navigating the planning system, helping them to understand and respond to political risk, build effective engagement strategies and deliver successful outcomes on complex projects.

Commenting on his appointment, Paul Teverson said:

“I’m delighted to be joining Cratus at such an exciting time for the business. Cratus has built a strong reputation for combining political insight with strategic communications, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to help clients navigate an increasingly complex landscape and deliver meaningful change.”

Julian Seymoure, CEO added:

“Paul’s experience across corporate affairs, public policy and the built environment makes him a fantastic addition to the team. He brings a depth of insight and a proven ability to operate at the most senior levels, helping clients to unlock opportunities and manage risk. We’re thrilled to welcome him to Cratus.”

As Cratus continues to grow, Paul’s appointment reinforces the firm’s position as a leading strategic communications consultancy in the built environment, helping clients to shape conversations, influence decision-making and deliver projects that make a lasting impact.
